Woman arrested after American NFL fan’s phone stolen on O’Connell Street

An NFL fan visiting from the US had his phone stolen while out socialising in Dublin city centre.

Gregory Marlier was out enjoying all Dublin had to offer during the NFL weekend as he headed to O’Connell Street on Sunday night after the match.

Unfortunately, he was forced to alert members of Store Street Unit D, who were on patrol on the street, after his phone was nicked.

The officers quickly identified the suspect, located her, and placed her under arrest, while Gregory’s phone was found.

The woman was later charged and hit with a court date.

Gardaí wrote on Facebook: “While members of Store Street Unit D were on Patrol on O’Connell Street last night they were alerted to a phone snatch. Gregory Marlier who is visiting from the USA had his mobile taken while socialising on O’Connell Street.

“Members quickly identified the suspect, located her and placed her under arrest. Gregory’s phone was located and returned to him. The suspect now faces her day in court.”
