Two men arrested as drugs worth more than €700,000 seized in north Dublin

TWO MEN HAVE been arrested after gardaí seized drugs worth more than €700,000 during an operation in north Dublin yesterday.

As part of ongoing investigations targeting the sale and supply of drugs in Dublin, officers attached to the Coolock Drugs Unit intercepted a car in the Dublin 1 area shortly after 3.30pm yesterday.

Cannabis valued at €100,000 was recovered, and a man in his 20s was arrested at the scene.

Follow-up searches at two residential properties in Dublin 1 led to the seizure of additional cannabis worth €551,000 and cocaine valued at €70,000.

Gardaí also recovered £33,000 sterling, and more than €4,000 in cash. A second man, aged in his 30s, was arrested.

Both men are being detained at a garda station in Dublin.

The drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.

“Investigations are ongoing,” a garda spokesperson said.
