THREE PEOPLE HAVE died in what is understood to be a violent incident in rural County Louth.
Gardaí are at the scene of the incident at Tallanstown, in an area north of Ardee.
Armed gardaí have been called to the scene and the area has been sealed off. It is believed the victims are a woman and two men – all are related.
A man has been arrested and is currently detained by gardaí – it is believed medical assistance has been sought for the suspect.

In a statement the garda press office said: “Gardaí were alerted to a serious incident at a residential property in Tallanstown, Co Louth, this morning.
“Three people – two males and one female (all adults) – were found deceased at the scene. The scene has been preserved for technical examination.
“The Offices of the Coroner and the State Pathologist have been notified.
“A male, aged in his 30s, has been arrested and is currently detained at a station in the Garda North West Region under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984. Investigations are ongoing.”
