THE FAMILY OF Nancy Guthrie, who has been missing in the United States for 24 days, are offering up to $1 million for information that may lead to her recovery.

Although there have been several breakthroughs in the investigation, it is not known where the 84-year-old is or whether she is still alive.

Authorities believe Nancy Guthrie was taken against her will from her house outside Tucson, Arizona.

Her family has said in public statements that she took life sustaining medication for a heart condition.

Nancy Guthrie’s daughter Savannah is a well-known news anchor for NBC.

In a video posted to her social media today, Savannah said the family is now offering a $1 million reward to anyone who helps find her mother.

“Please keep praying without ceasing. We still believe in a miracle. We still believe that she can come home,” she said.

Guthrie said that while they remain hopeful for a happy reunion, they will accept it if their mother is dead.

“She may already be gone. She may have already gone home to the Lord that she loves and is dancing in heaven,” she said.

“If this is what is to be then we will accept it. But we need to know where she is. We need her to come home.”

Savannah told viewers that anyone with information can submit it anonymously if they want.

“Someone out there knows something that can bring her home. Somebody knows, and we are begging you to please come forward now,” she said.

The family is also donating $500,000 to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

“We are hoping that the attention that has been given to our mom and our family will extend to all the families like ours who are in need,” Guthrie said.

Previous leads

A glove, which was found in a field near the side of the road, appeared to match that worn by a masked person on Guthrie’s porch on the night she went missing, however testing failed to score a match in a national database of genetic profiles.

The masked person was seen in video footage the FBI released last week.

Authorities said that the footage was retrieved from a backend data repository, even though the Google Nest camera was not recording at the time.

In the footage the man is wearing a ski mask, gloves and a backpack, and was carrying a gun secured in a holster.

The FBI has described the suspect as a male, approximately 5ft 9in–5ft 10in tall of average build.

The FBI has previously offered a reward of up to $100,000 (€84,500) for information leading to the location of Nancy Guthrie and/or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her abduction.

Not long after her disappearance, a ransom note was sent to US media outlets. It demanded that an amount of money be sent within a set deadline.

Savannah Guthrie responded to the reported note with a video posted online with her siblings. They said that they were willing to talk to whoever has their mother, and to pay, but that they needed proof of life.

Authorities were not able to establish the veracity of the note, and the deadline for the ransom note passed on 5 February.
