The future of Netflix’s gritty new period drama House of Guinness has reportedly been revealed.

The gripping series launched on the streaming platform just days ago and has already left fans “hooked”.

Set among the tensions of 1860s Dublin, it follows the powerful family who founded the biggest brewery in the world, and the legacy handed to four siblings, Arthur ( Anthony Boyle ), Edward (Louis Partridge), Anne (Emily Fairn), and Ben (Fionn O’Shea).

As they work to live up to their birthright and keep one the world’s most famous dynasties alive, family, political and social tensions are set to reach a boiling point.

“The Guinness heirs are met by allies, enemies, complicated love interests, and more as each character fights for their own best interests as well as that of the family business,” Netflix Tudum teased.

Inspired by real history, the cast also includes Happy Valley’s James Norton, Niamh McCormack, Seamus O’Hara and Michael McElhatton.

Fans have been raving about the series since it dropped days ago, and it has now reportedly been confirmed for a second series.

A source told The Sun: “Not only have viewers been binging the series, it’s also achieved the unusual feat of winning over most telly critics too.

“Which is no wonder given the huge budget the show had, along with a stellar cast and, of course, the fact that it comes from the pen of Peaky Blinder creator Steven Knight.”

Dublin Live has approached Netflix for comment.

Steven previously shared his hopes for future seasons, revealing in a Q&A: “I think what we have got with this show is something that is spectacularly successful in the way that it’s executed.”

“But also it’s like, it’s a very human thing and these people who are doing this thing are making something that I believe is going to be something great.

“It’s like Peaky, it’s going to be huge, it’s going to be great.”

Though Netflix has yet to officially greenlight a second season, in response to queries about continuing the saga, he optimistically confirmed: “Yes, of course. We are going to do season two, and three, and four.

“Yes absolutely, we are going to do this all the way to the 1960s.”

This comes after fans admitted to “binging” the series in the days since its release.

“8 GLORIOUS episodes SPECTACULARLY flew by,” one praised, while another said “It’s very addictive after the first episode, the script has some great lines, the story is authentic, excellent pacing and Anthony Boyle is a scene stealer as Arthur Guinness. It’s definitely one to get into.”

Another wrote: “Excellent. A combination of Succession, Peaky Blinders with a touch of Bridgerton. The music is modern and well chosen.”

Someone else said: “Outstanding storytelling. Captivating cinematography. Brilliant execution of the plot and stays with you. Historical backdrop that feels refreshingly modern gives it an energetic flair making it a binge-watch worthy series, definitely one of the best of 2025.”
