The car involved failed to remain at the scene.

Gardaí are particularly keen to trace a grey or silver saloon car with a partial registration number beginning 141-D.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who was in the area between 7pm and 7.30pm and may have camera footage, including dash-cam, is asked to contact Blanchardstown Garda Station on (01) 6667000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.

“Investigations are ongoing,” a garda spokesperson said.
