Frameworks – applications now open for animated short film scheme

Fís Éireann/ Screen Ireland’s flagship animated short film scheme Frameworks, in partnership with RTÉ, is now open for applications for 2026.
Frameworks is an initiative for the support of short animation filmmaking. It is a scheme for the Irish animation sector which has produced global award-winning films, from John Kelly’s Oscar-nominated Retirement Plan to Louise Bagnall’s Late Afternoon.
The deadline for applications is 1pm on Friday, 1 May 2026.
The selected films will be between 2 to 5 minutes in duration. Budgets can be between €13,000 and €14,500 per minute depending on format.
This scheme seeks high-quality, concise, imaginative storytelling to be delivered by applicants wishing to make an impact on the domestic and international stage.
