IT MAY BE December, but festival season has officially kicked off, as Electric Picnic announced its first wave of acts this morning for next year’s festival.
Making their Electric Picnic debut, Gorillaz will headline Saturday night, while Dublin post-punk band Fontaines D.C. will close out the festival on Sunday in a coveted headline slot.
Joining them is Dunboyne star CMAT, who just marked a milstone year in which her album EURO-COUNTRY debuted at number two in the UK and topped the album charts at home.
She also performed to widespread acclaim on Glastonbury’s main stage in June, as well as Waterford’s All Together Now festival in August.
Other acts confirmed for the 2026 linuep include American singer-songwriter Sombr, Swedish pop sensation Zara Larsson, British grime artist Skepta, rock band Wunderhorse, American singer-songwriter Role Model, and US rockers Geese.
The festival will place from 28 to 30 August at Stradbally Estate, Co Laois.
Electric Picnic organisers said the nine-act reveal is just the start of what’s planned for the 600-acre festival site, with favourites like Trailer Park, Croí, Salty Dog, Providencia, and Fish Town all returning, alongside more announcements to come.
