AN INVESTIGATION FILE into the Creeslough tragedy has been forwarded to Ireland’s Director of Public Prosecutions, gardaí have said.

It comes almost three years after 10 people were killed in an explosion at a building complex in the Co Donegal village on 7 October, 2022.

Gardai said the families of the 10 who died and the local community are in their thoughts as the third anniversary approaches.

In a statement, they said the investigation into the explosion has generated more than 1,500 jobs, 1,000 statements and 750 reports, as well as seven arrests including six males and one female.

“A primary investigation file has today been forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions,” they said.

“The victims’ families continue to be supported by family liaison officers.

“Regular family liaison briefings meetings are held, the most recent of which was this evening, the 29th September 2025.”

Gardai said they are continuing to appeal to anyone with any information in relation to the explosion to contact the garda investigation team.

“In particular, the garda investigation team would like to speak to any person that was in the commercial premises, the scene of the fatal explosion, at any time prior to the fatal explosion on the 7th October 2022 and who may not have spoken formally to An Garda Siochana to date, to please come forward and speak to the garda investigation team now,” they added.

The Garda investigation team can be contacted at Milford garda station where an incident room continues to investigate under the direction of a garda senior investigating officer at 074 9153060, the Garda confidential line 1800 666 111 or in confidence through any member of An Garda Siochana at any garda station.
