DUBLIN CITY COUNCIL is set to withdraw a plan that would have started the process of renaming Herzog Park in Rathgar.

A DCC meeting was scheduled to debate a proposal to remove the park’s existing name and to hold a consultation process on selecting a new one.

The park is named after former President of Israel Chaim Herzog and last July a Council committee voted, with one objection, to remove the name.

DCC Chief Richard Shakespeare announced that he was proposing that the report be withdrawn and apologised for “administrative oversight”. The move comes after criticism from the Government and international politicians.

So, today we’re asking: Do you think Herzog Park should be renamed?
